Omar Sy (born January 20, 1978) is a French actor. He is known for his duo with Fred Testot, Omar and Fred, and for his role in The Intouchables, written and directed by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano, which became the second highest earning French film of all time at the French box office. [1] On February 24, 2012, he received the César for Best Actor for his role in The Intouchables, thereby becoming the first black actor to win the French honorary award. The role also earned him a nomination for a Satellite Award for Best Actor.

I love playing with children a lot and it's my way of focusing. For me to feel better and to concentrate, everyone around me needs to be relaxed.

People just look at you and say, "You're black and you're from the suburbs" and all doors are closed. I wanted to be something else. If I see a slightly open door, I will find a way to get through.
